Subject: Inquiry: Replacement 180W flexible solar panel / 1200 × 780 mm for bimini mounting
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am looking for a replacement for a flexible solar panel that I purchased last year for my boat:
FIREFLY ENERGY Flexible Solar Panel 180W, 12V
ASIN: B0D2QD85L2
Dimensions: 1200 × 780 × 2 mm
Installation: Mounted on a boat bimini
The exact dimensions are very important, as the existing mounting arrangement on my bimini was made specifically for this panel size.
I saw that you offer what appears to be a dimensionally identical panel:
SOLARFAM 180W / 1200 × 780 × 2 mm / flexible / white
possibly article no.: A500008082 / SZ-180-MC-II
I would appreciate your help with the following questions:
Is this SOLARFAM panel technically identical or compatible with the FIREFLY ENERGY 180W panel mentioned above?
Do you offer this panel, or a suitable alternative, with the same outside dimensions of 1200 × 780 mm, but with existing mounting eyelets / mounting holes?
If no mounting eyelets are available:
Is it permitted to drill holes in the outer edge area of the panel? If yes, what minimum distance from the solar cells and what maximum hole diameter would you recommend?
If drilling is not permitted:
What mounting method do you recommend for installation on a boat bimini? Is adhesive mounting possible or intended? If so, which adhesive or mounting system would you recommend?
Could you please send me a technical datasheet, ideally including a drawing showing the exact cable outlet position, junction box position, and any recommended mounting points?
