Victron Energy CAN-Bus temperature sensor for lithium batteries
Code: ABCT_A500009342Product detailed description
The CAN-Bus battery temperature sensor is an essential accessory when charging a lithium battery with the Buck-Booster. It restricts or prevents the Buck-Booster from charging the lithium battery at low temperatures and thus protects the battery from damage. The temperature sensor connects to the Buck-Booster using an RJ10 UTP data cable (not included with the temperature sensor). Temperature sensing is required when the LFP lithium batteries are charged at low temperatures. The charging current of the lithium battery must be reduced when the battery temperature drops below 5 degrees and charging must stop when the temperature drops below zero. The CAN-Bus Temperature Sensor measures the temperature of the lithium battery and sends it to the Buck-Boost DC-DC. The Buck-Boost DC-DC will reduce or stop charging when the battery temperature drops too low. In addition, the CAN-bus Temp. Sensor can also be connected to the temperature sensor terminal in MultiPlus or Quattro units, so that the MultiPlus or Quattro can reduce or stop charging when the battery temperature drops too low.
