Detailed information

Product detailed description

The Kidde 29HD smoke and fire detector is designed to continuously monitor the air for smoke and fire with a 9V alkaline battery to power the detector for up to 12 months. 5 years warranty! This stand-alone fire detector meets the requirements of EN 14604 for installations according to Decree No. 23/2008 Coll., on technical conditions for fire protection of buildings, which stipulates that every new building and defined construction object must be equipped with a stand-alone detection and signalling device. An optical detector (photoelectric) designed to continuously monitor the air for the presence of smoke and fire. Thanks to the photoelectric detection technology, the detector reacts faster to a fire, in the first phase, when a large amount of visible smoke is produced, without open flames such as smoke from smouldering objects, etc. In the event of a fire, an acoustic signal of 85 dB is automatically triggered, while the device also signals the alarm visually (by indicating a red LED). The fire detector is equipped with a TEST button to check the correct functioning of the device and a HUSH button to temporarily silence the fire detector in case of a false alarm. Pressing the button causes immediate deactivation of the alarm, for a period of about 10 minutes, reduction of the sensitivity of the circuits and switching off the acoustic signaling of the detector. Only use the HUSH button if you know the cause of the detector activation (e.g. when cooking or frying). After approx. 10 minutes after the detector has been deactivated, the detector will automatically reset to the original fire hazard monitoring settings. If a high concentration of smoke remains in the room, you can press the HUSH button repeatedly until the room is properly ventilated. This model is equipped with Kidde's state-of-the-art photoelectric sensor. Thanks to its exceptional modern design, this device can be installed in places with the potential for accidental activation of the "False Alarm" sensor, for example in the immediate vicinity of the kitchen, etc., unlike other conventional fire detectors. The detector has a built-in automatic control system that monitors performance among other components of the device such as the sensor, battery or internal circuitry. If a fault or low battery voltage is detected, the device will notify both audibly and visually. The fire detector is equipped with a special lock to protect against accidental disassembly of the device by either children or third parties. Battery operation allows for quick and easy installation and ensures proper functioning of the detector. Recommended location of the fire detector: in and near the kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom, hallway, boiler room, cellar, attic and wherever you use electrical equipment such as electric stoves, etc. The detector is equipped with a system that prevents the device from being installed without a battery. The battery operation allows for quick and easy installation and ensures the detector functions properly regardless of voltage (e.g. during a power outage). At least one fire detector should be installed on each floor of the house, outside each sleeping area or in the immediate vicinity of bedrooms. A working fire detector provides immediate warning of smoke or fire in the house, doubling the chance of survival for all occupants. There are many different types of fire detectors with different features for easy operation. Kidde recommends installing both ionization and photoelectric detectors to ensure maximum detection of the different types of fires that may occur in your home. There are traditionally 3 types of sensors used in home fire and smoke detectors: Optical detectors are more effective for detecting slow burning fires, which may smoulder for several hours before the flames are ignited. IONIZING TYPES OF FIRE SENSORS are generally more effective for detecting fast burning fires that spread quickly and consume combustible materials. THERMAL FIRE PROTECTORS are triggered when the room temperature reaches a set point (usually 56°C). These detectors are usually used in locations where other types of detectors are not suitable.
