PEX

PEX (Cross-linked polyethylene) is a polymer, namely thermoplastic polyethylene, which is chemically modified to improve its properties. This treatment ensures that polyethylene molecules are cross-linked, which increases its temperature and mechanical resistance. PEX material is known for its high flexibility, low temperature resistance, and ability to withstand significant pressures and temperatures, making it popular for a variety of engineering and construction applications.

Some properties and uses of PEX material:

Flexibility: PEX is extremely flexible and can be easily shaped and bent, making it a suitable material for a variety of installations, including pipes and tubes.

Temperature resistance: PEX can withstand a wide range of temperatures, from extremely low to higher temperatures. This makes it suitable for use in piping systems for hot and cold water.

Corrosion Resistance: PEX is resistant to corrosion and reactions with compounds that can damage other types of pipe.

Chemical resistance: PEX is resistant to many chemicals, making it suitable for piping systems where contact with a variety of fluids is expected.

Easy Installation: Its flexibility and ability to withstand temperature and pressure make PEX piping relatively easy and faster to install than other systems.

Uses: PEX is often used for piping systems for hot and cold water in homes, buildings, but also for underfloor heating and cooling systems.

PEX material is becoming increasingly popular in construction and engineering applications due to its advantages such as corrosion resistance, high flexibility and the ability to withstand a wide range of temperatures and pressures.
