sprinkler systems

Sprinkler systems are automatic fire extinguishing systems that use water spray or other extinguishing agents to suppress or stop the spread of a fire. They are one of the most effective methods for quickly and reliably dealing with fires, especially in commercial and industrial buildings.

Principle of operation of sprinkler systems:

Fire detection: Sprinkler systems are equipped with detectors that monitor the temperature in the room. If the temperature reaches a certain value, it signals a possible fire.

Activation of sprinklers: When a critical temperature is reached, the corresponding sprinkler is activated. A sprinkler is a valve that is connected to pipes filled with water. At elevated temperatures, as a rule, only the single sprinkler closest to the fire will open.

Water spray: Opening the sprinkler allows water to exit the pipe and spray into the space. Water dampens the fire by cooling the surrounding temperatures and removing the oxygen needed for healing.

Protecting surrounding areas: A sprinkler system can be designed to activate only those sprinklers directly above the fire, minimizing water damage to other parts of the building.

Advantages of sprinkler systems:

Quick response: The sprinkler system activates almost immediately after a fire is detected, helping to stop the fire before it can spread.

Automatic prevention: They do not require manual intervention because they are activated by themselves based on temperature detection.

Damage minimization: Early intervention can prevent fire spread and minimize fire damage.

Protecting lives: Sprinkler systems can provide valuable time to evacuate people from threatened areas.

Property protection: They help minimize damage to property and equipment in buildings.

Sprinkler systems can be installed in various types of buildings, including residential homes, commercial and industrial facilities, hospitals and other public places. There are several types of sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, supercooled and split systems, which are selected based on the specific application and building needs.
