A magnetic separator captures ferrous sludge and debris circulating in a heating or DHW loop before it can settle in a boiler heat exchanger or pump, using a magnet built into the body to hold particles until the next service. Fitted in-line with a 1'' thread, it needs only periodic draining/cleaning rather than any moving parts to maintain.
