Shelly 1PM Gen4 is a single-channel smart relay with energy metering, installed in a flush-mounting box behind a switch or socket. You can switch the connected circuit from your phone, by voice or according to a schedule, and see how much energy it consumes at the same time.
The metering is particularly useful for electric heating. You get an overview of how much a convector, infrared panel or electric heater within the relay's rating consumes, and you can adjust heating times based on real figures. For higher loads, a contactor must be used.
Unlike the Shelly 1 Gen4, it does not have a potential-free contact: the output is supplied from the same circuit as the relay. It is therefore not intended for direct connection to a boiler's room thermostat terminals. Safety is increased by built-in protection against overload, overvoltage and overheating.
It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ax, Bluetooth 5, Zigbee and Matter and can be integrated into Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings or Home Assistant. 20 schedules, 20 webhooks, scripts and MQTT run in the device even without a permanent cloud connection.
Installation and wiring
- Dimensions of 37 × 42 × 16 mm allow installation in a standard flush-mounting box.
- Screw terminals for conductors 0.5–4 mm², stripping length 6–7 mm.
- When powered from the mains, the neutral conductor must also be connected. The circuit must be protected by a circuit breaker with B or C characteristic and a rated current of max. 16 A.
- Connection to the mains may only be carried out by a person with the appropriate electrical qualification.
