Gas ball valves with fire safety device FIREBAG®
This category includes gas ball valves with integrated fire protection fittings (FIREBAG®) for use in gas pipe systems. The valves are available in straight and corner configurations and are designed for use with IVAR.FLEXIGAS flexible gas hoses. They are suitable for gas supply lines in heating and plumbing systems operating at temperatures from -20 °C to +60 °C. The valves are constructed from nickel-plated brass (CW617N) and feature PN 5 pressure ratings.
The FIREBAG® system activates at 100 °C (±5 K) to prevent gas leakage in the event of a fire. The valves are available in various thread combinations, including external-external (MM), internal-internal (FF), and external-internal (MF) connections. They are suitable for installation in both new and existing gas systems where fire safety is a priority.
How to choose
- Confirm the required connection type (MM, FF, or MF) based on the pipe layout and existing fittings.
- Select the correct valve type (straight or corner) to match the direction of the gas flow in the system.
- Verify the thread sizes (1/2", 3/4", or 1") to ensure compatibility with the gas pipe and hose connections.
Frequently asked questions
What is the operating temperature range of these valves?
The valves are rated for operation between -20 °C and +60 °C.
How does the FIREBAG® system work during a fire?
At 100 °C (±5 K), a mechanism in the valve body activates to close the gas supply and prevent leakage.
