Cell and Battery Tester HW-586 - Capacitance Meter up to 9999Ah
Code: TI_09830182Product detailed description
The module will measure the capacity of a 1.5-12V cell or battery by measuring time, discharge current and clamp voltage. The data of the currently measured capacitance, current drawn and clamp voltage are displayed sequentially on the display during the measurement until the set value of the terminal voltage is reached. The module then disconnects the cell or battery from the load and displays its capacity. It is possible to correct the terminal voltage or calibrate the measured voltage and discharge current.
Technical parameters:
- power supply: 4.5-6V/70mA (micro USB input)
- measured cell or battery voltage: 1-15V, resolution 0.01V
- end switching voltage: 0.5-11V, accuracy ±0.1V
- discharge current max. 3A, resolution 0.001A
- maximum measured capacity: 9999Ah
- dimensions 42×19mm
Instructions for use:
1) Connect the measured cell or battery, discharge resistor, and then power the module (micro USB). The display will show the battery terminal voltage.
2) Use the + and - buttons to adjust the final trip voltage when the module disconnects the load from the battery. For Li-Ion or LiPol cells set 2.7V (preset 2.5V), or multiples of this voltage, for 12V lead acid battery 10.8V (preset 9V) . Confirm with the OK button.
3) Now the measured capacitance starts to load, and the values of the current drawn and the clamp voltage are also displayed gradually. When the terminal voltage is reached, the battery is disconnected from the load and the measured capacitance value flashes on the display. Pressing OK displays the capacitance permanently and a further press of OK resets the module and makes it ready for any further measurements.
4) The discharge resistance is determined with respect to the rated voltage and capacity of the battery being measured. For a Li-Ion 18650 cell, a resistance of 3.6-7.5ohm is suitable (discharge current 0.5-1A), for a 12V lead-acid battery with a capacity of 10-40Ah, a resistance of 4-5ohm is suitable (discharge current 3A). However, the exact size of the resistance does not affect the correct measurement of the module, it only affects the operating conditions during discharge.
Error messages:
- ERR1: battery voltage is higher than 15V
- ERR2: battery voltage is lower than the preset end trip voltage
- ERR3: clamp voltage drops too fast (defective battery or large discharge current)
- ERR4: Discharge current is higher than 3.1A - increase the discharge resistance value
Calibration:
as long as an accurate calibration voltage of 10.0000V or an accurate A-meter with a range of 2A is available, you can calibrate the module for more accurate measurement. Enter calibration mode by pressing all three buttons simultaneously. Then the test will start automatically, by long pressing the OK button you can correct the reading on the display.
The product is not a separately functional unit, it requires professional assembly.
