This self-adhesive edge strip runs along the perimeter of every underfloor heating field, wherever the floating screed meets a wall, column, door threshold or other fixed structure. Supplied as a 25 m roll measuring 150 mm in height and 8 mm in thickness, it is applied before the screed is poured and simply stuck into place.

Once the screed cures, the strip acts as a compressible buffer that takes up the thermal expansion of the floor, so the surrounding structure is not put under stress and the risk of cracks forming at the edges is greatly reduced. It also limits heat loss into the walls and is used to separate adjoining heating zones within the same room.

To work out how much you need, add up the length of all walls and fixed elements around the heated floor areas and order the corresponding number of 25 m rolls. After the screed has hardened, the protruding part of the strip is trimmed flush with a utility knife.
