Gorenje
Gorenje is a large Slovenian manufacturer of white goods. With a 4% market share, it is one of the eight largest home appliance manufacturers in Europe. Appliances are sold under the company's own brands Gorenje, Mora, Atag, Pelgrim, Etna, Körting and Sidex and are manufactured at the main production plant in Velenje, as well as cooking appliances at the Mora Moravia plant in Mariánské Údolí in the Czech Republic or refrigerators and freezers at the plant in Valjevo, Serbia.
In 1950, in a small workshop, an aspiring and determined team of young enthusiasts began to manufacture household appliances. They probably did not dare to dream that their project would one day become a company with a global reach. Currently, after 70 years, more than 50,000 employees work here.
In 1958, Gorenje started producing stoves and ovens for solid fuels called "Tobi". But production soon shifted to electric models. Gorenje began to expand its network in 1965, when, as the first provider of washing machines in Yugoslavia at the time, it began to produce the first licensed automatic washing machines for the Italian brand Rex Zanussi, and only two years later it started the production of its own brand. The team soon discovered that the offer of large household appliances is not complete without refrigeration equipment. In the 1960s, it therefore started the improvised production of a compressor refrigerator modeled after the French one.
Gorenje has always been known for its own design and regular collaboration with top designers. At the beginning of the year 2000, it was the first company in the field, cooperating with the recognized graphic studio Pininfarina.
Later, Gorenje also invited other prominent names in the design world to collaborate on interesting projects, including Karim Rashid, Ito Morabito (Ora-Ïto brand), Nika Zupanc and Philippe Starck. Gorenje also cooperates with the Volkswagen brand and produces special edition Gorenje Retro refrigerator models. Realizing the importance of aesthetics very early on, the team established an internal design department 50 years ago. Since Gorenje's main goal was user-friendly design, it later began to cooperate with leading design studios.

Most appliances have German or Italian roots. However, the Gorenje brand comes from Slovenia and is appropriately proud of its origin. And he has a reason, as evidenced by the number of awards he has won, including the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. You will encounter Gorenje products mainly in kitchens and bathrooms. It is not the slightest problem to equip the entire household with appliances with this manufacturer's logo, from a refrigerator and freezer to a stove with a steam extractor and a microwave oven with a grill.
