Technopolymer

A technopolymer is a polymer, which is a complex molecular compound made up of long chains of repeating units called monomers. These polymers are used to create various technical or engineering materials that have a wide range of properties and uses. Technopolymers can include, for example, thermoplastics, thermosets and elastomers.

Technopolymers are often developed and modified to achieve the desired physical, mechanical and chemical properties for specific applications. They can have varying degrees of strength, heat resistance, chemical resistance, hardness and other properties that make them suitable for a wide range of industrial and engineering applications.

Known examples of technopolymers include polyamides (e.g. nylon), polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyphenylene ethers (PPE), polyphenylene sulfides (PPS) and many others. These materials are used in automotive, electronics, consumer products, construction and other industries for their superior properties and ability to replace traditional materials such as metals and glass.
