Where a property has a 3/4″ incoming main rather than the more common 1/2″, this reducing valve is sized to match — fitted just after the stopcock, it brings mains pressure down to a steady, adjustable level so the rest of the plumbing (and everything connected to it) isn't subject to high-pressure spikes or daily fluctuations.
An integrated manometer shows the set outlet pressure directly on the valve body, and the brass construction is built for continuous duty on a household or small-building water main.
