The HA01 active battery balancer (equalizer) is designed for all types of 12V lead acid rechargeable batteries that are connected in series to maintain the voltage balance between the batteries.
When two or more battery blocks are connected in series, the voltage of the blocks when charging and discharging may be different. Cyclic operation causes the battery voltages to be different from one block to another. One battery has a higher voltage and one battery has a lower voltage. This condition causes irreversible damage to both batteries.
The battery balancer balances the batteries with each other - it balances to a maximum voltage difference of 20mV between two batteries. This will improve the performance and lifetime of the batteries connected in the battery pack.
