oxygen barrier

The oxygen barrier is a layer of aluminum that prevents oxygen molecules from entering the heating system.

Oxygen is an unwelcome element in heating systems, which causes corrosion of the metal elements of the heating system, which means almost the entire boiler. Heaters have to deal with the fact that oxygen is part of the air and, according to Henry's law, it is also part of the heated water. To put it simply, there is a "gas" vacuum in the heating system, the air and the oxygen contained in it naturally balance this imbalance. The oxygen barrier in plastic pipes for floor systems will significantly reduce the area for diffusion of oxygen into the heating system. Free oxygen will not harm the plastic pipes stored in the floor, of course the most vulnerable is the boiler.
