Polyvinyl chloride

Polyvinyl chloride, abbreviated PVC, is a thermoplastic polymer made from vinyl chloride monomers. It is one of the most used plastics in the world and has a wide range of uses in various industries.

PVC distribution:

Rigid PVC (PVC-U): Rigid PVC, also known as PVC-U (Polyvinyl chloride without plasticizers), is a strong, hard and brittle plastic that does not contain any additives to obtain flexibility. It is used for pipes, window and door profiles, building boards and other building materials.

Soft PVC (PVC-P): Soft PVC, or PVC-P (Polyvinyl Chloride with Plasticizer), is a flexible and elastic plastic. Plasticizers are added to PVC-U to increase its elasticity and flexibility. It is used to make hoses, cable jackets, artificial leather and other soft plastic products.

Use of PVC:

Construction industry: PVC is used in the construction industry to make window and door frames, sewer pipes, waste water and other building components. PVC-U is ideal for exterior applications due to its resistance to weather conditions and corrosion.

Electrical engineering: Soft PVC is often used in electrical engineering to produce cable sheaths and insulating materials for cables.

Consumer Industry: PVC is used to make consumer items such as packaging, containers, artificial plants and many others.

Automotive industry: PVC is used to make interior and exterior parts of cars, such as dashboards, seats, doors and more.

Healthcare: PVC is also used in the healthcare industry to make medical supplies such as IV tubing, blood bags and other medical equipment.

Thanks to its versatility, low price and good technical properties, PVC is one of the most commonly used plastics in the world.
