Tension

Voltage is a physical quantity that describes the electrical potential or electrical potential difference between two points in an electrical circuit. It is a measure of electrical force or energy per unit charge.

Voltage is measured in units called volts (V) and is represented by the symbol "U" or "V". It is defined as the ratio of the work done to transfer a charge between two points to the size of that charge.

Mathematically, voltage is defined as:

U = W / Q

where U is the voltage, W is the work done, and Q is the magnitude of the charge.

There are other relationships that relate to voltage in electrical circuits:

Ohm's law: U = I * R
where U is voltage, I is current and R is resistance. This relationship expresses the relationship between voltage, current and resistance in a circuit according to Ohm's law.

Relationship between voltage, current and power: P = U * I
where P is power, U is voltage and I is current. This relationship shows how voltage and current affect the performance in a circuit.

Relationship between voltage, capacitance and charge: Q = C * U
where Q is charge, C is capacitance and U is voltage. This relationship expresses the relationship between voltage, capacitance and charge in a capacitor.

Voltage is a fundamental quantity in electrical circuits and plays a key role in the transmission of energy, the powering of devices and the control of electrical systems.
