Optical (photoelectric) smoke and fire detector powered by a lithium battery (built-in, non-removable) guaranteeing power supply for more than 10 years. This fire detector has been designed in a small compact and modern design. The detector features a combination button with TEST & HUSH™ function, which is designed to both test and verify the proper operation of the device and to temporarily silence the detector in the event of a false alarm. The device's sensor is designed to continuously monitor the air for the presence of smoke. Thanks to the innovative photoelectric detection technology and the NANOWAX conformal layer used to protect the device's electronics even in very humid environments, the detector can also be installed near the kitchen or bathroom. Loud alarm! In the event of a fire, the detector automatically triggers a loud 85 dB siren signal, accompanied by a flashing red LED to indicate a fire alarm. When the combination button is pressed during an alarm, the HUSH function (temporary silencing of the alarm sound) is activated for about 10 minutes. After the time interval has elapsed, the detector will fully automatically reset back to the original fire hazard monitoring settings. 10 years lifetime Battery operation allows for quick and easy installation and ensures proper operation of the smoke and fire detector for 10 years after activation. Activation of the power battery occurs when the detector is first placed in the mounting bracket. After 10 years of protection and with 30 days notice, the unit will notify you of the end of life and automatically alert you that it needs to be replaced. The fire detector is equipped with a special lock to protect against unwanted removal of the device by either children or third parties. Approval for new buildings The Kidde 10Y29 fire detector uses modern photoelectric (optical) sensing technology and is independently tested to meet all European standards. Of course, it is both CE certified and approved according to the ČSN EN 14604:2009 standard for installations according to Decree 268/2011 Coll. (formerly No. 23/2008 Coll.), on technical conditions for fire protection of buildings, which stipulates that every new building and defined building structure must be equipped with an autonomous detection and signalling device. At least one fire detector should be installed on each floor of the house, in front of each sleeping area or in the immediate vicinity of bedrooms. A working fire detector provides immediate warning of smoke or fire in the house, doubling the chance of survival of all occupants in the house. Testing the detector The best way to test and maintain a fire detector sensor in working order is through the SAFE 220 test gas spray. The test gas in this spray verifies that the fire and smoke detector circuits and systems are working reliably, and that they are actively looking for any sign of smoke particles.
