The laminate stretching pen is used for pulling cables into cable protectors (e.g. HDPE or HDR). At the end of the route you slide the pen into the protector to the beginning of the route, there you attach the cable to be stretched and pull it back, while the pen is wound into the transport stand. The fiberglass pen is fairly hard, it doesn't warp, and there is an attachment loop at the beginning of the spool.
