The CCR2004-1G-2XS-PCIe is a very smart and self-contained router with RouterOS installed with L6 license and powered by your server or PC with its own compute CPU, 1.5GHz clock and 4 cores for firewall, access control for home media and file servers and even some traffic control in data centers. This router is equipped with 2x SFP28 interfaces (25Gbps), Gigabit Ethernet and PCI-e over which the router is powered and over which you can see 4 more virtual interfaces. The two interfaces in pass-through mode to the SFP28 slots and the remaining two virtual Ethernet-PCIe interfaces are bridged with a Gigabit Ethernet port for management access. To make this CCR device function as a network card, a new Passthrough mode has been implemented. Basically, this is a FastForward FastPath mode that can also forward hardware link states. However, this form-factor carries some limitations that you should keep in mind. Compared to ASIC-based assemblies, the CCR NIC needs a certain amount of time to start up. If the host system is booted before the CCR card, it will not appear among the available devices. You should add a delay in the BIOS to initialize the PCIe device after power-up. Otherwise, you will have to reinitialize the PCIe device from the host system.
