The GPEN21 is a wall-mounted power injector that not only provides PoE power to active components, but also enables their management: - Interface management and monitoring - GPEN link fault detection - VLAN support - SNMP reporting - Basic traffic shaping This is part of Mikrotik's GPEN (Gigabit Passive Ethernet Network) concept as a more economical alternative to GPON installations. The GPEN21 is designed to be installed directly at the customer's site with a home WiFi router providing connectivity. The GPEN21 thus provides power via PoE to the ISP router/switch installed outdoors on the premises. The GPEN21 has an Ethernet and SFP port for fiber optic connectivity. It is possible to choose to deploy GPEN21 as an uplink power supply to the provider's optical module, or to provide PoE to power the provider's Ethernet uplink (using the GPeR/netPower product line). Mounting allows for wall or rack installation.
