GPeR is part of Mikrotik's GPEN (Gigabit Passive Ethernet Network) concept, which offers a lower cost alternative to GPON installations. The repeater allows to extend the Ethernet network range by an additional jump (up to <100-150m standard network, up to 210m when deploying an additional GPeR unit) up to 1500m. A useful feature for very long runs of Ethernet cable (high-rise multi-storey buildings). The maximum length of CAT6 Ethernet cable between the GPeR unit and the power supply/router is up to 100 to 150m (depending on the quality of the cable used). The maximum length of CAT6 Ethernet cable between two GPeR units is up to 210m (depending on the quality of the cable used).
