MPPT solar controller Victron Energy SmartSolar 150/45
Code: ABCT_A500004761Product detailed description
As a testament to the high quality of all MPPT controllers, Victron Energy provides a 5 year extended full warranty. Victron Energy's MPPT solar controllers are among the absolute world leaders in this field. It offers ultra-fast MPPT tracking to ensure maximum possible solar gains. Especially under overcast skies with frequent changes in light intensity, solar gains are 30% higher than conventional PWM controllers or 10% higher than slower MPPT controllers. The maximum output of the solar panels is 650 Wp for 12 V systems, 1300 Wp for 24 V systems and 2600 Wp for 48 V systems. If these values are exceeded, the controller will not damage itself, but will only automatically reduce the incoming power from the panels to acceptable values. The solar controller is factory preset for eight battery types - the appropriate type is selected using a rotary switch located on the controller body. The maximum void voltage (referred to as Voc) of the connected solar panels must not exceed 150V (note: as the outside temperature drops, the voltage of the solar panels increases). The maximum input short-circuit current of the PV panels must not exceed 50A, otherwise permanent damage may occur. The new range of SmartSolar MPPT controllers offers built-in Bluetooth This new feature brings the ability to connect your "smart" phone/tablet to your "smart" solar controller. You can monitor many system parameters and historical statistics for the last 30 days. You also have the possibility to make adjustments to the operating parameters. You can also download the VictronConnect app for free on Google Play or in the App Store. If you want to do the above using a PC, then you have the option to use a VE.direct to USB cable to connect the controller and PC. All you have to do is install the Victron Connect program on your PC, which you can download for free again at the same address. The internal electronic components are protected by a resin coating against adverse influences and for long life. It thus offers an increased protection rating of IP43 for the electronic components and IP22 for the connection connectors. Designed for vertical positioning on a non-combustible substrate, with wiring from below. The controller includes an internal temperature sensor to adjust the charging voltage accordingly. Automatic detection of system voltage 12/24/48 V. Adaptive three-stage charging: 1. fast charge (Bulk), 2. Absorption and 3. Float. Initially during fast charging, a high current and lower voltage is generated to quickly recharge the discharged battery. This phase is followed by constant voltage with decreasing current to fully charge the battery without dangerous overcharging reducing the battery life. The charged battery is maintained in a charged state by very low current and low voltage. If the battery voltage drops below 13.2 V, for example due to load, a new charge cycle is initiated. The voltage from the panels must exceed the battery voltage by 5 V for the controller to start working and charging the battery. The controller charges until the panel voltage is 1 V higher than the battery voltage. For a 12 V battery, we recommend panels with a minimum of 32 cells and a maximum of 108 cells (panels in series). It is therefore possible to charge a 12 V battery with panels with a working voltage of 24 V. For 24 V systems, we recommend panels with a minimum of 72 cells and a maximum of 108 cells. The purpose is to achieve sufficient voltage to charge the battery efficiently and fully. This more powerful range of solar controllers does not have a DC output. To connect a DC load to the battery, we recommend using the "BP Battery Protection" with a maximum load current of up to 220A.
