MPPT solar controller Victron Energy SmartSolar 250/70-Tr
Code: ABCT_A500004670Product detailed description
The SmartSolar MPPT controller offers the following four new features in contrast to the regular Victron Energy BlueSolar controller: 1. Bluetooth You can view and configure the SmartSolar MPPT controller via your smartphone or tablet. You can monitor current status and historical data and make parameter adjustments using the VictronConnect mobile app. You can download the VictronConnect app for free on Google Play or in the App Store. 2. SmartSolar plug-in display (not included) It is possible to purchase an additional SmartSolar plug-in display as an accessory. The display plugs into the connector on the front of the controller and allows you to visualize all operating statuses and make parameter settings. 3. Remote on/off input an external device can simply switch the controller off/on 4. Built-in programmable relay Can also be programmed via a mobile phone, for example as an alarm relay. Compared to competitors, Victron Energy's new professional controllers offer ultra-fast MPPT monitoring. Especially under overcast skies with continuous change of illuminance, solar gains are 30% higher with this controller compared to conventional PWM controllers or 10% higher compared to slow MPPT controllers. Especially with partial shading, two or more points of maximum output can be given. Conventional MPPT controllers tend to maintain power at a local power point, but this may not correspond to the optimum (maximum) power point. Excellent efficiency of up to 98%, with no unnecessary power losses with quiet passive fanless cooling. The controller is suitable for recharging both lead acid and LiFePo4 batteries. The installation of the regulator is quite simple - on the regulator with a rotary switch we set the battery type, see manual. Next, you connect the regulator to the battery and it reads the battery voltage and automatically adjusts itself. Next, you connect the solar panels to the controller - for these powerful models we usually use 60-cell panels of 250-270Wp. In this case we connect a maximum of five panels in series so that the maximum allowed VOC voltage of the panels is not exceeded 250V. The complete and detailed setting of the individual charging modes of the controller can be done via mobile phone, plug-in display or also programmed via PC using the VE.direct to USB cable. The maximum allowed panel power for 12V systems is 1000Wp, for 24V systems 2000Wp and for 48V systems 4000Wp. If these values are exceeded, the controller will automatically reduce the incoming power from the panels to acceptable values, so that the controller will not be damaged by over-power. The only thing that can damage the controller is failure to meet the maximum VOC voltage of the panels of 250V. The maximum input short circuit current of the PV panels must not exceed 35A, otherwise permanent damage may occur. Adaptive three-stage charging: 1. fast charging (Bulk), 2. absorption (Absorption) and 3. maintenance (Float). Select from eight pre-programmed values for absorption and maintenance voltages using a rotary switch. The length of absorption is determined by the voltage value before the start of a new charge cycle (morning). This has a positive impact on the full recharge of the battery and its lifetime. The regulator is activated when the panel voltage is higher than the battery voltage. The voltage from the panels must exceed the battery voltage by 5 V for the controller to start working and charging the battery. The controller charges until the panel voltage is 1 V higher than the battery voltage. Extended electronic protection Protection against overheating, short circuit and re-polarized PV panels. Victron Energy provides a 5 year extended warranty on all MPPT controllers. Detailed technical information can be found in the related documents.Additional parameters
