Multifunctional expansion vessels
Multifunctional expansion vessels are designed for use in closed heating, hot water and plumbing systems. These vessels accommodate thermal expansion of water and help stabilise pressure, while also reducing hydraulic shocks. They are suitable for both residential and commercial applications, including central heating systems, domestic hot water circuits and circulation systems. The vessels feature a fixed butyl membrane and an internal butyl coating for corrosion resistance, with operating temperatures ranging from -10°C to 99°C (with a recommended maximum of 90°C). Available in capacities from 5L to 500L and with connection sizes from 3/4" to 5/4".
How to choose
- Select the appropriate capacity based on system volume and expected thermal expansion. Common sizes include 5L, 11L, 24L, 100L, 150L, 200L, 300L and 500L.
- Choose the correct connection size and thread type (3/4", 1" or 5/4") to match the system piping and fittings.
- Verify compatibility with the system type (e.g. heating, hot water) and ensure the operating temperature range aligns with the application.
Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum operating temperature for these vessels?
The maximum recommended operating temperature is 90°C, although the vessels are rated for use up to 99°C.
What materials are used for the internal components?
The internal membrane is made from butyl, and the water chamber is protected with an ant-corrosive butyl coating.
Are these vessels suitable for vertical or hanging installation?
Yes, models are available in hanging (IVAR.DP) and vertical with base (IVAR.DPV) configurations.
