Pipe insulation 28 mm (3/4"), wall 9 mm – mirelon, 2 m length
Code: IZO 28/09Product detailed description
Item IZO 28/09 is a foam insulating tube for pipework in heating, plumbing and cooling installations. It is made of mirelon, comes in grey and has an inner diameter of 28 mm (3/4") with a 9 mm wall. Each piece is 2 m long.
The tube does two jobs. On central heating circuits and hot-water distribution it holds the heat in the pipe, so less of it escapes into the surrounding space. On cold-water lines and on refrigeration or air-conditioning pipework it prevents moisture from forming on the cold pipe surface. The operating range is −30 °C to +90 °C.
With a 9 mm wall this size insulates better than a 6 mm sleeve, which makes it the right choice for longer runs and for any line where heat loss should be kept to a minimum.
Installers, contractors and resellers receive the insulation from our warehouse in Slovakia. The price is per running metre and the smallest quantity per order line is 2 m. A full pack of this size holds 200 m.
Choosing the size and fitting
Select the insulation by the outside diameter of the pipe. The bore of the tube has to be a little larger than the pipe, otherwise it cannot be pulled over it. As a guide, 15 mm pipe takes an 18 mm tube and 18 mm pipe a 22 mm tube; larger sizes are chosen the same way.
On new pipework, push the tube on from the open pipe end before the joint is made. If the pipe is already connected, cut the tube open along its length and wrap it around the pipe.

Frequently asked questions
Which size do I need for my pipe?
Measure the outside diameter of the pipe and choose a tube whose bore is slightly larger, so that it slides on. For example, 15 mm pipe takes the 18 mm size and 18 mm pipe the 22 mm size.
Should I take the 6 mm or the 9 mm wall?
The 9 mm wall gives better thermal insulation and is meant for longer runs and lines where losses matter. The 6 mm wall is sufficient for short or less critical sections and is cheaper.
How do I enter the quantity in the cart?
The quantity is in metres, not pieces. The insulation comes in 2 m lengths and the minimum order is 2 m, so order in multiples of 2.
Can it be used on cold water and air-conditioning pipes?
Yes. Besides reducing heat loss, the tube stops condensation forming on cold pipes, and it is rated for −30 °C to +90 °C.
