The PNI CBM-2 combines the strings of a photovoltaic array into one DC output to the inverter. Gathering the connections in a single box reduces cabling, improves reliability and makes maintenance easier. It is designed for single-phase solar systems.
It accepts two strings of up to 15 A each (4 mm² wire) and provides DC surge protection (In = 20 kA, Imax = 40 kA, 1000 V DC) and a fuse holder rated 30 A / 1000 V DC. The maximum rated voltage is 1000 V DC.
The enclosure is IP65 and UV-resistant, so it can be installed outdoors, and it protects the components from humidity, mould, acids and rodents.
Installation
Cable glands: PG09 for inputs, PG21 for the output and PG13.5 for earthing. Dimensions are 292 x 220 x 120 mm and the weight is 2.604 kg. DC wiring up to 1000 V should be done by a qualified electrician. For arrays with more than two strings a larger combiner box is required.
