The PNI SWI280 is a garden irrigation controller for up to eight separate zones. It joins your home network over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and is operated in the Tuya Smart app, where you add the device and set hourly and daily programs for each zone. Buttons on the unit also allow direct manual control.

For more efficient watering there are Cycle and Soak functions. Cycle splits the total watering time into shorter stages and Soak inserts pauses between them so the water has time to soak into the ground. The Smart Weather function detects a rainy day and pauses watering automatically, saving water.

The controller runs on 230 V AC and its output is 24 V AC at up to 2000 mA, which switches the solenoid valves in the garden. It works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, so it can be part of a smart home and be controlled by voice.

Installation and wiring

The controller is intended for solenoid valves rated 24 V AC, with one zone per valve. Wiring of the valves and the power supply should be done by a qualified person. The unit measures 190 x 30 x 130 mm.
