The SilverCloud 850VA is a backup power supply with a pure sine wave output. The manufacturer designed it to protect wood-burning boilers, motor-driven equipment and other electronics sensitive to short and long power cuts – which includes a circulation pump and a heating controller. Output is 850 VA (600 W).
No battery is supplied. The UPS connects to an external 12 V lead-acid battery of 30 to 200 Ah, so you set the backup time by the size of the battery. Battery cables (red and black, 80 cm each) and clamps for a car battery are included.
The input accepts mains from 140 to 280 V, the inverter output is 230 V (± 2 %) and in AVR mode the voltage is held within 195–245 V. Transfer to battery is typically 6 ms, 10 ms at most. The LCD with a smart menu shows the status, and the USB port with the Power Monitor software lets you watch the UPS from a PC. It protects against overload, short circuit, overheating, and battery over-charge or deep discharge, and it has telephone line protection.
Connection and limits
The two Schuko outlets can deliver 600 W in total. Connecting the battery and the mains should be done by a qualified person. On a 110–125 % overload the unit shuts down after 30 s, faster at higher loads. The alarm level is 60 dB at most.
