Bulky chrome grates are usually the first thing that gives away a shower floor. The SLEEK 500 linear drain avoids that entirely: instead of a slatted grille, water disappears through a single narrow slot running the length of a 500 mm matte black cover strip that sits almost flush with the tile.

The channel body and the cover are both cold-rolled stainless steel, so the drain shrugs off daily exposure to water, soap residue and standard bathroom cleaners without corroding. Three height-adjustable feet let the installer level the channel precisely in the mortar bed before tiling, and a removable trap keeps sewer odours out of the room.

Fitting it: the channel is set into the screed bed before waterproofing and tiling begin, connected to the waste pipe, and tiled around with a slight fall toward the slot. The cover strip only clips into place once the grout has fully cured.

Good to know: for a shower area roughly 90-100 cm wide, a 500 mm channel run along one side is usually enough to drain the whole floor. Lifting the black cover strip by hand (no tools) exposes the trap for a quick rinse every couple of months.
