Smoke detector KIDDE 10Y29
Optical detector (photoelectric) powered by a lithium battery (built-in, non-replaceable) guaranteeing power for 10 years.
The device has been designed in a small, compact and modern design with a Hush function to temporarily silence the detector in the event of a false alarm. The detector is designed to continuously monitor the air for the presence of smoke and fire, with the possibility of placing it near the kitchen or bathroom.

In the event of a fire, an acoustic signal of 85 dB is automatically triggered, while the device also signals the alarm visually (by indicating a red LED). The fire detector is also equipped with a TEST button to check the correct functioning of the device.

Pressing the Hush button will immediately deactivate the alarm for about 10 minutes, reducing the sensitivity of the circuits and turning off the audible annunciation of the detector. After about 10 minutes after the detector has been deactivated, the detector resets fully automatically to its original fire hazard monitoring setting.

At the end of its service life (after 10 years), the device will automatically alert you that it needs to be replaced.

The fire detector is equipped with a special lock to protect against accidental disassembly of the device by children or third parties.

Battery operation allows for quick and easy installation and ensures proper operation of the detector for 10 years after activation. Activation of the power battery occurs when the detector is first placed in the mounting bracket.

The Kidde 10Y29 uses advanced photoelectric (optical) sensing technology and is independently tested as compliant with all European standards. Of course it is both CE certified and approved to STN, EN 14604:2005 and CPD. Designed for installation in new buildings in accordance with Decree 23/2008 Coll. Decree on technical conditions for fire protection of buildings.

At least one fire detector should be installed on each floor of the house, outside each sleeping area or in the immediate vicinity of bedrooms.

A working fire alarm provides immediate warning of smoke or fire in the house, doubling the chance of survival of all persons in the house.

There are many different types of fire detectors with different functions for easy operation. Kidde recommends installing both ionization and photoelectric detectors to ensure maximum detection of the different types of fire that may occur in your home.

Fire detection technology
Traditionally, 3 types of sensors are used in home fire and smoke detectors:

OPTICAL FLAMMERS are more effective for detecting a slow burn, where there may be several hours of smoldering before the flames flare up.

IONIZING TYPES of fire detector are generally more effective for detecting fast-burning fires that spread rapidly and consume combustible materials.

The HEAT THRESHOLD is triggered when the room temperature reaches the set point (usually 56°C). These detectors are usually used in locations where other types of detectors are not suitable.

Recommended location of the fire detector: near the kitchen, in the living room, dining room, bedroom, hallway, boiler room, basement, attic, attic, for rooms and areas with high ceilings or wherever you foresee limited access to the detectors.
