The MC220L is a media converter designed to convert media from 1000BASE-SX/LX/LH optical line to 1000BASE-T metallic line and vice versa. The MC220L media converter, which has been designed to IEEE802.3ab 1000Base-T and IEEE802.3z 1000Base-SX/LX/LH standards, is intended for use with multi-mode/single-mode fiber optic cable with SC/LC type connectors. It uses 850 nm wavelength for sending and receiving data with multi-mode optical cable and 1,310 nm wavelength for sending and receiving data with single-mode optical cable. Additional features of this module include the ability to be used as a standalone device (no chassis required) or with a TP-LINK 19' chassis, automatic MDI/MDI-X detection for the TX port, and front panel status LEDs. The MC220L module allows data transmission over a distance of up to 0.55 km using a multi-mode fiber optic cable and up to 10 km using a single-mode fiber optic cable.
