The EdgePoint EP-R6 from Ubiquiti Networks is an outdoor Gigabit Router with support for output POE on all 5 Ethernet ports and input POE on the first port. With this product, you will no longer have to pull cables from the roof to the lower floors for each active element separately, or devise a complex solution involving an outdoor rack, switch installation, power supply and POE. Now you have everything in one. In terms of connectors and interfaces, the device includes (5) 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet ports with POE support, (1) 1Gbps SFP port and a DC terminal block for direct power connection. The entire device is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 880MHz, 256MB RAM and 256MB internal storage. POE IN - Power over Ethernet for the EdgePoint ER-R6 has its limitations and for multiple connected devices it is recommended to use power over the DC terminal block. If required, port #1 is the designated port for POE IN purposes. The entire unit is powered via 24V/1.4A passive POE over the wires (+1, 2, 4, 5; -3, 6, 7, 8). If POE IN is used on port 1, the POE Out function cannot be used on this port at the same time. POE Out - Power supply to other devices is supported on all 5 ports with a 0.7A/port output limit. This is the power supply on the wires (+4, 5; -7, 8). These ports are intended for powering e.g. NanoBeam. Thanks to the highly sophisticated EdgeOS operating system, it is possible to use basic switch functions, PoE configuration and monitoring and advanced features such as VLAN configuration, RSTP, Link aggregation, DHCP snooping, RADIUS authentication and routing.
