The Ubiquiti Wave MLO5 is a high-performance WiFi 7 device with dual 5GHz radios to increase throughput and provide reliable connectivity in PtP mode. In addition to 10G Ethernet with PoE support, the device also features 1 SFP+ port. On the top side, there are 2 RP-SMA connectors for wireless transmission and 1 SMA connector for GPS antenna connection. Thanks to the unified design, airMAX, airFiber X, UISP Dish or UISP Horn antennas can be used. There is also a compatible adapter from RF Elements for use with antennas equipped with TwistPort. The manufacturer claims a throughput of 5+ Gbps and a maximum range of up to 100 km. Throughput and range may vary depending on local regulatory conditions and the surrounding environment. The first radio supports channel widths of 20, 40, 80 and 160 MHz, while the second radio adds an extra channel width of 240 MHz. Operating frequencies range from 5180 to 5320, 5500 to 5700 and 5745 to 5825 MHz. A high level of security is guaranteed by the use of WPA3-PSK encryption. The maximum power consumption is 20W and the power supply is provided by a 54V/0.56A PoE adapter with 10G Ethernet included. The power supply of the unit is available in the range of 22-27V and 44-54V. MLO (Multi-Link Operation) technology This is an advanced feature that allows compatible WiFi 7 clients to connect simultaneously to multiple wireless frequencies that are broadcast by a single access point. Unlike traditional WiFi where only one frequency band (2.4, 5 or 6 GHz) is used, MLO allows clients to connect to multiple frequencies and select the optimal one for data transmission.
