The status monitor is an excellent accessory for all batteries with a working voltage of 8 to 120 V, whether lead acid or lithium. It finds its use in all photovoltaic power plants with battery storage, in caravans, motorhomes, boats and backup systems, in short, wherever it is necessary to know the actual state of charge of the battery with one quick glance. While most cheaper inverters and charge controllers only estimate the state of charge of a battery by its voltage, the BM500's status monitor uses a shunt to measure the actual current flow in the battery bi-directionally and thus calculates the remaining capacity much more accurately. The beautiful green backlit display also shows in real time the battery's charging or discharging power, voltage, estimated remaining capacity and the time it will take to fully charge or discharge. The display has an adjustable light intensity, can be switched off completely, pulses slowly when charging and lights continuously when discharging, so the user can see the battery activity at a glance even without reading the data. A great and versatile choice wherever the battery cannot be monitored using a mobile app or using a phone for monitoring is undesirable.
