The Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-50A BuckBoost non-isolated charger redefines adaptive DC-DC charging in two-battery systems charged by a (smart) alternator. This device not only ensures top performance, but also guarantees the safety of your system. The innovative cooling technology of the aluminum circuit boards provides 98% efficiency without the need for fans, so the Smart BuckBoost will run at full power up to 40°C. As an integral part of your Victron system, Smart BuckBoost offers full monitoring and control capabilities for your equipment.

An unlimited number of Smart BuckBoost devices can be connected in parallel. Easily adjust the output current to match the requirements of your system.

Intelligent alternator compatibility
With built-in engine shutdown detection, Smart BuckBoost ensures that the charger only draws power when the engine is running. It also helps to get the correct charging current from the smart alternators found in Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines.

Smart BuckBoost includes customizable charging algorithms and 8 preset battery modes. For lead acid batteries, these settings ensure optimal absorption time for both shallow and deep discharge.

The Smart BuckBoost is equipped with comprehensive electronic protection against overload, short circuit and excessive temperatures. It will automatically reduce output power when the product reaches maximum temperature.

Low temperature shutdown and undervoltage protection
To prevent damage to the lithium batteries, the charger automatically shuts down at low temperatures and when the input voltage drops below a user-adjustable value, protecting the starter battery from deep discharge.
