O-rings

O-rings are one of the most common types of sealing elements in the industry. These are circular sealing elements made of elastic materials that are inserted into the space between two coupling parts in order to prevent the leakage of liquids or gas through this gap. O-rings have a simple design, but their importance is very important for the proper functioning of various mechanical and hydraulic systems.

A typical o-ring is made of an elastomeric material such as nitrile rubber (NBR), fluorosilicone rubber (FPM), ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM), and others. The O-ring has a circular shape and a cross-section in the shape of the letter "O", which gave it its name.

Their main function is to ensure tightness between two coupling parts, for example between two metal or plastic parts, in several applications:

Hydraulic and pneumatic systems: In these systems, o-rings provide a seal in hoses, tubes and valves, preventing the leakage of liquids or gas.

Automotive: O-rings are used in vehicles in various places such as the engine, transmission, brake systems and more.

Appliances: O-rings are part of many appliances, where they ensure tightness between various components.

Industrial equipment: In an industrial environment, o-rings are used in various equipment to ensure a tight connection between various components.

Chemical industry: O-rings are used in the chemical industry to seal various chemicals and liquids.

O-rings are widely used sealing elements due to their simplicity, reliability and low cost. The right o-ring material depends on the specific application, with different elastomeric materials having different resistance to heat, chemicals and other factors.
