Lead carbon batteries are a new type of lead acid battery. In this case with a bonded, acid electrolyte, identical to the well-known AGM batteries. Lead carbon batteries have better partial discharge performance and a much longer cycling life compared to conventional AGM/GEL lead acid batteries.

Advantages of lead-carbon batteries:
- lower sulphation on partial discharge/charge
- lower charging voltage and therefore higher efficiency and less corrosion of the negative plate
- the consequence is the most important parameter and that is higher battery life
