The PNI CBT-3 is a metal box that combines protection and isolation of both the DC and the AC side of a three-phase photovoltaic system in a single enclosure. It reduces the number of cable runs between the panels and the inverter, and it makes the installation tidier and easier to service.
On the DC side it accepts 4 panel strings of up to 15 A each and merges them into one output rated up to 60 A. Surge protection is fitted on both the DC and the AC side. The AC side is designed for three-phase 380-440 V and currents up to 63 A.
The enclosure is made of metal and rated IP65, so it is suitable for outdoor use. Cooling is natural, through the metal case itself, with no fan.
Installation and connection
The box measures approximately 440 x 330 x 180 mm and weighs about 10 kg. It is wall-mounted, and the photos show mounting hardware and keys. Cable cross-sections: 4 mm2 on each string input, 12 mm2 on the DC output, 10 mm2 on the AC side and 6 mm2 for earthing.
Important: the box handles high DC voltage and mains voltage. Grid connection, wiring of the panels and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified electrician with experience in PV systems.
