MPPT controller 15A for LiFePO4 batteries with system voltage 12V and for PV panels with max. power 200W with max. input voltage 35V and min. input voltage 15,8V. It is primarily designed for panels with a system voltage of 12V, generating 16-18V at maximum load.
Brief description of MPPT controllers:
The MPPT controllers adjust the current source-solar panel characteristic using an internal V-A converter to be optimal for battery charging. Thus, they can harness the energy from the solar panels better than PWM controllers, which regulate charging only by pulse limiting the direct connection between the solar panel and the battery, where the width of the pulse is proportional to the state of the battery being charged. In other words, the MPPT controller can generate the ideal voltage and current to charge the battery from a higher voltage and lower current source. For example, 18V/5A converts to 14.5V/6.2A. The conversion efficiency of the V-A characteristic tends to be above 95%, so the losses are minimal and the regulators can usually be adapted to different types of batteries to provide the most optimal charging.
