Solar controller MPPT module 9-12-24V 5A, MPPT-V08A with IO CN3722
Code: TI_04280209Product detailed description
MPPT controller module for 9-24V solar systems with Li-Ion, Li-Pol, Ni-MH or Pb batteries with max. charging current 5A. The MPPT controller contains an inverter that adjusts the V-A characteristic of the mapping source (solar panel, wind power, etc.) to the level that is most suitable for charging the connected battery. This achieves the lowest losses and the best use of energy from the source. When using a 12V lead-acid battery, it is possible to connect a PV panel with an output of up to 60W.
Technical parameters:
- input voltage: 8-28VDC
- output voltage: 5-26VDC
- Pb battery: 12/24V
- Lithium batteries: 7.2/10.8/14.4V
- Ni-Cd, Ni-MH battery: 7.2-14.4V
- charging method: automatic 3 stage
- 93% efficiency
- self-consumption 3mA
- max.charging current: 5A (determined by the wire resistance on the controller)
- protection: against over-polarity, short circuit, back current to panels
Settings:
1) On the controller, set the "MPPT" trimmer to the extreme clockwise position and the "charge" trimmer to the extreme counterclockwise position.
2) Connect the solar panel (ensure standard lighting conditions) or a spare power supply with the voltage generated by the PV panel (18V for panels with system voltage of 12V) and turn the MPPT trimmer counterclockwise until voltage appears at the output (LED starts flashing blue)
3) Connect the uncharged battery through the A-meter and set the "charge" trimmer clockwise to the position at which current flows into the battery. The LED will start flashing red.
4) Set the MPPT trimmer to the point where the highest current flows into the battery. This step must be done with the illuminated solar panel that will be used from the array to create realistic operating conditions.
5) Now connect the fully charged battery and turn the "charge" trimmer counterclockwise until the charging current is interrupted. This ensures protection against overcharging.
