PowerBeam is based on the previously very successful NanoBridge product line. It now includes more powerful hardware and a smarter design. The design has been simplified as much as possible and installation in the field is now faster and more convenient, for interest I would mention the button to release the emitter which was a problem with the older generation. Inside the PowerBeam there is a powerful MIPS Atheros 74KC processor with a frequency of 560MHz, which is followed by 64MB of DDR2 operating memory and 8MB of Flash memory. The network port supports 10/100/1000 Ethernet and can be powered via the included passive 24V/0.5A Gigabit PoE. The theoretical maximum throughput of the unit is 300Mbit (MCS15, 802.11n, 2x2MIMO, 40MHz channel allocation). The shape and size of the PowerBeam offers the highest possible antenna gain. Plus, with excellent directivity, the PoweBeam will work great even in more cluttered environments. The biggest advantage of any airMAX device, besides the high data rate due to the 802.11n standard, is the use of TDMA time division multiplexing. The TDMA airMAX protocol enables excellent scalability and high throughput while maintaining low latency in PtMP networks.
