The PBE-M5-300-ISO is a suitable device for PtP links with 22dBi antenna gain from the M5 series, which achieves very high transmission speeds and stable links even in busy environments. It is also fully compatible with older M5 series products and is of course designed for outdoor use. With possible channel width settings of 5/8/10/20/30 and 40MHz, real throughput rates of up to 150Mbps+ can be achieved... Inside the PowerBeam is a powerful Atheros 74KC 560MHz MIPS processor, which is backed by 64MB of DDR2-type RAM and 8MB of Flash memory. The network port supports 10/100 Ethernet and can be used to power the unit with the included passive 24V/0.5A PoE adapter (active 802.3af PoE is not supported). Thanks to an innovative mechanical design, the antenna has a more robust bracket, collar and a plated plastic part for mounting the radiator. All smoothed to the maximum for even better signal-to-noise ratio in highly cluttered areas. The biggest advantage of any airMAX device, besides the high transmission speed due to the 802.11n standard, is the use of TDMA time division multiplexing. The TDMA airMAX protocol enables excellent scalability and high throughput while maintaining low latency in PtMP networks.
