Bluetooth Smart Any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet or other device can be used to monitor and set up. You can also update the charger as new software features become available. Phoenix Smart (1+1): two outputs for charging 2 batteries The second output is limited to approximately 3A and with a slightly lower output voltage for charging e.g. a starter battery. Phoenix Smart (3): three full current outputs for charging 3 batteries All outputs can supply the full rated output current. When charging multiple batteries simultaneously, the full rated current is automatically divided between the active outputs. Automatic voltage compensation The charger compensates for the voltage drop on the DC cables by slightly increasing the output voltage when the DC current increases. Please refer to the manual for details. Adaptive five-stage charging algorithm: bulk - absorption - reconditioning - float - storage The Phoenix Smart Charger is equipped with our well-known "adaptive" battery management system, which can be preset for different battery types. The "adaptive" function automatically optimizes the charging process according to the way the battery is used. Prevents damage caused by excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode If a high charging current is selected for fast charging of the battery in combination with a high absorption voltage, the charger prevents damage caused by excessive gassing by automatically limiting the voltage increase once the gassing voltage is reached Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use: Storage mode Storage mode is activated whenever the battery has not been subjected to discharge within 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to balance the battery. This feature prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, a major cause of premature battery failure. It also charges Li-ion (LiFePO4) batteries When charging a Li-ion battery, the charger uses a specific charging algorithm for Li-ion batteries to ensure maximum performance. Use the MODE button to select the LI-ION option. Fully programmable charging algorithm The charging algorithm can be programmed via Bluetooth or the VE.Direct interface. Three pre-programmed algorithms can be selected using the MODE button (see specifications). Remote on/off Remote on/off consists of two terminals: Remote H and Remote L. A remote switch or relay contact can be connected between H and L. VE.Direct interface For wired data connection to Color Control panel, PC or other devices. Programmable relay Can be programmed (e.g. via smartphone) to be activated by alarms or other events.
