Caution, when selecting an inverter, consider the peak draws that most appliances have, which can be many times its nameplate rating. These are mainly electric motors and appliances powered by switching power supplies. Practical examples: A motor rated at 300W will run up to an inverter rated at 1000W. Even a 600W model with soft-start function is not enough. Laptop, LCD TV and Satellite receiver together with a power consumption of about 150W cannot start on a 300w inverter, because all of them are charging capacitors in switching power supplies after switching on, they had to be connected sequentially.
