Want to see how much energy is left in your battery at a glance? The JBD display shows the charge level as a percentage together with the voltage, on an LCD with a green backlight. It fits a home-built LiFePO4 storage bank, an e-bike converted to Li-Ion cells, or a lead-acid battery in a caravan or on a boat.

The module is designed for panel mounting – the front panel measures 61 × 33.5 mm. During first setup you use the buttons to choose the battery chemistry (L, F, P) and the number of cells connected in series; every choice stays stored in memory even after the unit is disconnected from the power source.

• works with Li-Ion batteries (3.7 V cells), LiFePO4 batteries (3.2 V cells) and lead-acid batteries (12 V blocks)
• covers 6.2 V to 120 V, from small portable systems to packs with 28–30 cells in series
• battery symbol plus a readout in per cent and volts – easy to read in dim light and in direct sun
• Auto-Sleep function: the green backlight can switch itself off after 10 seconds to save battery energy
• the display can be customised: alternate voltage and capacity, show only the percentage, or switch it on and off by hand with the button
• user settings S-1 to S-5 – backlight on continuously, alternating V and %, or sleep mode after 10 seconds of inactivity
• it is not a stand-alone functional unit
