The detector features two sensors - an optical (photoelectric) sensor for fire detection and an electrochemical sensor for carbon monoxide (CO) detection. A built-in lithium battery (built-in, non-replaceable) powers the detector for its entire 10-year lifetime, with the ability to power the device for up to 10 years and a 3-year warranty that is automatically activated when the detector is placed in the mounting bracket.
