Timers and smart sockets
Both product types here plug in between the wall socket and an appliance but are controlled differently. A digital socket timer is programmed on its own display and then works without any network. A GoSmart smart socket is switched from a mobile app, over WiFi or, in the ZigBee versions, through a ZigBee gateway.
Smart sockets can also respond to other GoSmart devices in the home. IP44 versions are protected against splashing water, while IP20 models are meant for dry interiors. As plug standards differ across Europe, check the socket type, voltage and maximum load in the product parameters.
