SuperPack batteries are very easy to install and do not require any additional equipment.

An internal switch disconnects the battery in the event of excessive discharge, overcharging or high temperature.It is therefore perfectly suited as a replacement for systems with a lead-acid battery without the need to install additional protective elements.

Lead acid batteries fail prematurely due to sulphation:

- If the battery is discharged for an extended period of time or is rarely fully charged.

- If left partially charged or fully discharged.

The lithium battery may not be fully charged. The lifetime even improves slightly in the case of a partial charge instead of a full charge.

This is the main advantage of a lithium-ion battery compared to a lead-acid battery.

 

In certain applications (especially islanded systems), energy efficiency can be critical.

The energy efficiency (discharge from 100% to 0% and back to 100% charge) of an average lead acid battery is 80%.

The energy efficiency of the lithium-ion battery is 92%.

The process of charging lead-acid batteries becomes particularly inefficient when they reach 80% state of charge, resulting in efficiencies of 50% or less in solar systems where several days of energy reserve is required (batteries operating in the 70% to 100% range

state of charge).

In contrast, a lithium-ion battery will continue to achieve 90% efficiency even under moderate discharge conditions.

Compared to lead-acid batteries, they also achieve a significantly higher cycle life at a lower weight.

 

Batteries can be connected in parallel to increase capacity, but cannot be connected in series.

Use only in vertical position.

Charging operating temperature: +5°C to +45°C

Storage temperature -40°C to +65°C

LiFePO4 batteries are a type of lithium-ion batteries that have many advantages such as high capacity, long life, safety and durability. However, like other lithium-ion batteries, they also have some disadvantages, including reduced performance at low temperatures.

At negative temperatures or at freezing temperatures, several adverse phenomena occur that affect the function of LiFePO4 batteries. These include:
- Slowing of ion diffusion in electrolyte and electrodes. This reduces the rate of chemical reactions that generate electric current. This means that the battery has lower capacity and performance when discharging and lower efficiency when charging.
-  Increase the internal resistance of the battery. This causes energy loss in the form of heat and reduces the battery voltage. This limits the maximum current that can be drawn from or supplied to the battery.
- Risk of battery damage. If the battery is charged at temperatures below 0 °C, lithium dendrite formation on the anode may occur. These are sharp crystals of lithium that can puncture the separator between the electrodes and cause a short circuit or fire. It is therefore recommended to charge LiFePO4 batteries only at temperatures above 0 °C.

For these reasons, it is advisable to operate LiFePO4 batteries in the temperature range of 0 °C to 60 °C to ensure optimum performance and lifetime. At lower temperatures, the battery must be protected from frost and charged carefully.
