MultiPlus is a powerful DC-AC inverter/charger with pure sine wave output, integrated adaptive battery charger and ultra-fast power source switch (battery/external AC power supply).

MultiPlus-II is a multi-functional inverter/charger with the ability to connect an external current sensor that extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions, ideal for use in island and ESS systems. It also has all the features of the MultiGrid unit with built-in islanding protection at the AC input - enhanced protection that prevents unwanted power being fed into the distribution network in the event of a grid failure.

Main features:

PowerControl and PowerAssist:
MultiPlus-II prevents overloading of a power-limited AC source, such as a current-limited connection or generator. If a large load overloads the AC input source, the charging current to the battery is automatically reduced in the first step (PowerControl). The charging energy is shifted to power the AC appliances. In the second step, the AC input source is increased by the current drawn from the battery (PowerAssist). The AC output receives energy from the AC source and the battery (inverter) together.

Solar energy:
AC power may also be available in the event of a mains power failure. MuliPlus-II can be used in off-grid (islanded) systems as well as in PV systems permanently connected to the distribution grid. The MultiPlus-II is not equipped with a PV array input, but is designed to work with MPPT controllers (DC-connected systems) or grid inverters (AC-connected systems) located at the AC input and/or output.

One AC input:
The MultiPlus-II is equipped with one AC input for connection to the distribution network or, for example, to a generator. If two AC inputs are required, select the Quattro unit.

Two AC outputs:
MultiPlus-II is equipped with two AC outputs. The main AC1 output provides power without interrupting the power supply. For example, in UPS mode, the MultiPlus-II will take over power to connected appliances (in less than 20 milliseconds) in the event of a mains or generator failure. The second AC output is only functional when an AC input (mains/generator) is available. Therefore, a load that would quickly deplete the batteries, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output and it will only be powered from the AC source.

Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel and three-phase operation:
Up to 6 MultiPlus-II units can work in parallel to achieve higher performance. For example, six 48/5000/70 units provide an output power of 25 kW/30 kVA and a charging power of 420 A. Three units of the same type can be configured for three-phase operation with phase shifting. But that's not all, up to 6 parallel units can form a single phase. Thus, a three-phase system can consist of up to 18 units with a total continuous output power of 75 kW/90 kVA and a charging power of 1200 A.
The MultiPlus-II 8k, 10k and 15k models can only be connected in parallel if an external AC switch is used. Refer to the MultiPlus-II External Transfer Switch Application Guide for more information.

ESS: Energy storage systems
MultiPlus-II is a key element of Victron Energy's ESS system, providing flexibility when combined with MPPT solar controllers or grid-tied PV inverters.

Configure, monitor and control the system locally:
The settings can be changed using the VEConfigure software (PC or laptop and MK3-USB interface required).

Remote configuration and monitoring:
Install Cerbo GX or other GX device to connect to the Internet. Operational data can be stored and displayed on the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website free of charge. Once connected to the Internet, systems can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed. Several monitoring and control options are available: Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, Color Control GX, Venus GX, Laptop, PC, Bluetooth (with optional VE.Bus Smart key), Battery Monitor, Digital Multi Control Panel.

Four-stage adaptive charger with two battery charging outputs:
The main DC output provides a powerful full battery charge through an "adaptive charging" system. The software manages the three-stage automatic charging process according to the state of the battery and adds a fourth charging stage - maintenance charging. The MultiPlus-II is designed to charge all types of lead acid, alkaline and lithium batteries.

System configuration:
In the case of a simple installation, e.g. a UPS, the setup can easily be done in a few minutes using the DIP switches on the MultiPlus-II or the VE.Configure 3 software and a PC. Parallel and three-phase applications can be configured using VE.Bus Quick Configure software (up to three units) or more complex systems using VE.Bus System Configurator software (above three units) and a PC.
Off-grid and hybrid PV installations to support self-consumption and greater energy independence, which include grid inverters and/or MPPT solar chargers, can be configured using VE.Configure 3 software with the appropriate assistants (dedicated functions for specific applications).
